AweCrap

Purgatory's casino. You bet with your life. You're bleeding the whole time.

You're a soul at the only table that matters — the one between places. Damned gamblers wager their afterlives here, and the only way out is up: five floors, one staircase, and the House waiting at the top. It's real casino craps underneath… twisted into a roguelike deckbuilder where your HP is your chip stack.

There's no pot and no safety net. The only health you win back is your own bets paying off — so you have to play, every round, or the house takes it out of your hide.

What you'll do

  • Climb a branching run through 5 acts — duels, elites, events, shops, and rest fires — each capped by a boss with its own vicious gimmick.
  • Build a deck of ~127 cards: rig the dice, juice your payouts, sabotage the other soul, or stanch your wounds. Draft, upgrade, and thin it as you go.
  • Bet like a real craps table — Pass/Don't, Odds, Place, the Field, hardways and prop bets — then rig the roll before it resolves.
  • Read your enemy. The point they set is a tell. Racers, sharks, prop-cannons, and controllers each need a different counter.
  • Survive the twists: the Bleed (idle and your wound opens), Anger (refuse to bet and the House rages, harder each round), the Cut, and Last Call.
  • Chase a score across five difficulties, from Soft Touch to Damned Luck.

Getting started

Runs in your browser — no download. Click the felt to bet, play cards from your hand, then ROLL. New to craps? Hit LEARN for a full illustrated guide or a slow guided practice match, and there's a no-stakes Practice table to mess around on.

⚠️ This is an early beta, actively in development. The full game loop is here and playable start to finish (with save slots so you can quit and continue). Still cooking:

  • 🎵 Audio — music and ambience are in; sound effects are coming.
  • 🎨 Art — a full visual overhaul (character portraits, backgrounds) is in progress; a lot of what you see is placeholder.
  • ⚖️ Balance — numbers are still being tuned, so expect some spikes.

Feedback is hugely welcome — tell me what's fun, what's brutal, and what's confusing. Thanks for playing early. 🎲
